Founded in 2019, Atelier 284 is an exhibition space, for the exchange of knowledge and integration of crafts. Inaugurated by Mariana Porto, artist and designer, and Monica Sztokfisz, florist, Atelier 284 has signaled its multidisciplinary essence since the beginning.

In a 19th century house in the heart of Jardim Paulistano, Atelier 284 occupies the former residence of the painter, photographer and antique dealer Otávio Pistelli. Original items, such as the pendant chandelier and the wood stove, preserve the farm’s aura and provide a sense of escape from the urbanity and oppressive weather of São Paulo.

It is intended to consolidate, over time, a program of art exhibitions, design, workshops and conversations supported by collaborators such as artists, agents and thinkers of contemporary culture. Receiving, at first, by appointment, it is literally that Atelier 284 “opens its doors” to the public.

The opening of Atelier 284 is punctuated by the exhibitions Seasons and Time Lord, by Mariana Porto, and Aéreos – Textile Nature, by Monica Sztokfisz. The textile works of Mariana Porto displayed inside the house, with representations of a thriving nature, allow immediate associations with the floral patterns of Monica Sztokfisz’s hanging gardens on the outside.

Welcome!
