About
Mariana Porto’s work (São Paulo, 1974) has fabric as its main support. Its panels use textile materials of vegetable or animal origin, organized in overlays of paintings, drawings and seams. There are also objects like glass beads, branches, shells and stones that endow her work with three-dimensionality and the memory of the paths taken by the artist in nature. In addition to a search for colors and combination of materials, Mariana Porto’s works investigate the limits between art and object, and often deal with a mythical space based on universal symbols.
