The works will debut in the exhibition that will be on display in the second half of August at Galeria Ateliê 284, in São Paulo by Silvana Holzmeister.
Mariana Porto’s creative universe is made up of reminiscences and poetry on fabric. With thread, needle, beads, brushes and paint, she creates textures that culminate in extremely delicate panels. Now, the artist takes a bigger step and arrives at the first series of sculptures, called “Coccon”, which will be on display in the second half of August at the Ateliê 284 gallery, in São Paulo. In the five works, she emphasizes the contrasting relationship between what protects us and, at the same time, imprisons.
